In 9 months, I will be a graduate of Carleton College. But before that, I have to graduate. And I’ll be damned if they don’t pronounce my full name correctly at graduation. The college agrees, and so they sent out a sheet to all the graduating students that included a pronunciation guide. Actually, you have been mispronouncing your name for ~20 yrs. You only had it correct when you were 6 months old.

Hal’s last sentence was exactly what I was going to say. Only you, sir. This may be my favorite document ever. I may have to use it to teach primary documents to my high school history kids. I would like to frame this, then take a picture of it framed, then frame that, and put it on my wall.
